“We have a longstanding relationship with Bury Hospice at Dunsters Farm, with myself and Tom being involved in fundraising with our grandfather from a young age – so it meant even more to complete this challenge for such a worthy, local cause.”

The team of four completed the challenge in 11 hours and 58 minutes, just within their target time of 12 hours. A fantastic achievement, considering the challenge includes an elevation gain of over 1000 metres.

“We were made aware of the challenge, after we donated a wide selection of snacks and drinks to Bury Hospice for their fundraising event. A team of keen walkers, we felt it was a fantastic way to support a local charity and raise some much-needed funds in the process.” Buying Director, Craig said.

“Whilst it was a difficult hike, there was a great atmosphere amongst our team on the challenge. A great bonding exercise, with everyone supporting each other.”

The squad managed to raise £2,300 for the hospice, which provides invaluable palliative and end-of-life care to thousands of local residents and their families across Bury and the wider area.

“We’re so pleased to have raised a decent amount for Bury Hospice, thanks to all those suppliers, customers & colleagues who have donated. We have already started speaking to the wider team about a challenge next year. Perhaps, after a rest!”

Contributions towards the challenge are still welcome, to make a donation please go to Craig Newton is fundraising for Bury Hospice (justgiving.com)
