With the summer holidays now over, we’ve been looking for some creative activities to reduce waste. What if there was a way you could save space in your recycling bin and keep your kids occupied for a few hours? Educate your child with these 5 creative ways to re-use your Dunsters Farm yogurt pots.
Back when Dunsters Farm first started selling their popular yogurts, it was way before today’s ‘throw away’ culture had begun and as a child growing up, we were big advocates of “recycling” our Dunsters Farm yogurt pots! My grandparents and parents would often use the pots for craft purposes such as paint pots, PVA glue pots and even growing seeds. We often took empty yogurt pots in to school for art lessons and had some happy times creating rockets and towers from old Dunsters Farm yogurt pots!
As we were reminiscing, it got us thinking about what other creative uses there are for used Dunsters Farm yogurt pots. We’re big fans of technology but its ever too easy for our children to become engrossed in the latest computer game rather than getting creative. There are loads of fun ideas around but here’s our top 5 ways to recycle your yogurt pots and keep those creative juices flowing.
1) The Dunsters farm tradition
Follow the Dunsters farm tradition and bring out your child’s artistic side, re-use Dunsters Yogurt pots as paint or glue pots. Even store your stationary in them. The possibilities are endless!

2) Growing seeds
Is gardening a much loved hobby of yours? Want your child to share your passion? Start them young! Simply grab a Dunsters Farm yogurt pot, poke some holes in the bottom to allow the water to drain, fill it with soil and bury your seed to start growing! Once you see a strong looking sprout you can transfer them to larger pots or garden beds to ensure your garden stays the prettiest on your street.

3) Yoghurt Pot Telephone
Help your child understand how sound travels with this fun and easy to make yogurt pot telephone. First clean out two yogurt pots and poke a small hole in the bottom of each. Thread a string (as long as you like) through to connect the pots and tie a knot in bottom of each pot to secure the string. If the Dunsters farm logo isn’t pretty enough, pour some PVA glue into another yogurt pot, grab some tissue paper and decorate as you wish!

4) Make a robot, train or monster
Save yourself some money, let your child make their own toys and keep their creative energies flowing. You’ll need several Dunsters Farm Yogurt pots for this one so don’t forget to keep them to one side. You’ll also need a few added extras; string to keep your pots together and some decorative supplies. Get your child’s imagination going and keep them occupied for hours with this crafty activity.

5) The Cup Song
Made famous by Anna Kendrick in the movie Pitch Perfect ‘Cups – When I’m Gone’ has been viewed on YouTube over 376 million times. Many musically inclined youngsters have watched it and posted their own renditions on YouTube. Allow your child to practise using our Dunsters Farm Yogurt pots. You’ll need one yogurt pot and some good co-ordination for this one!
