As you know, last year Dunsters Farm became accredited by the Real Living Wage foundation, reflecting our commitment to paying our employees the independently calculated hourly minimum salary, that reflects the true cost of living for households, significantly higher than the standard minimum wage.
However, despite many other organisations joining us as accredited employers, 20% of employers in our region are still paying less than the real living wage.
One of our commitments since signing up ourselves, has been to support the Real Living Wage Foundation in raising awareness, last month sponsoring an award at the Living Wage Champion Awards, held at the National Football Museum in Manchester.
Tom Mathew & Elyn Croasdale represented Dunsters, presenting the Retail & Hospitality Champion Award to Rosslyn Coffee & Fill Refill, both organisations celebrated for their outstanding contribution to the living wage movement.
The event was extremely well attended & will hopefully encourage more employers to support their staff by becoming accredited themselves.
