What is the Thinking Forward Committee?
Every three months, a group made up of representatives from all areas of the business meet to share suggestions and ideas.
…It sounds good, but what’s the purpose of it?
The aim of the Thinking Forward Committee is to discuss new and innovative ways to:
- Make the business more environmentally friendly
- Speed up a process or make it more efficient
- Improve customer service
- Improve staff wellbeing
What impact has it had so far?
The Thinking Forward Committee has been meeting since 2018 and has already helped introduce a wide range of initiatives and suggestions across the business. At the last meeting, in July, we focused on ideas submitted to improve staff wellbeing and we agreed the installation of a water filter in the main warehouse and the purchase of the picnic benches located on the grass verge at the back of the main warehouse. The picnic bench idea came from the office team who wanted somewhere to sit outside for break periods and outdoor meetings during the summer months. We also discussed the current Walking Challenge and the Yoga sessions currently being undertaken by various members of our team.
The Committee also discussed some more challenging ideas such as how the business could utilise the planned Bottle Deposit Scheme (Set to come into force in Summer 2023) to help customers and help create additional revenue by considering recycling options. More to come on this in the future!
I’m not part of the committee but have some good ideas to share…
We’re always on the lookout for new ideas and ways to improve how we do business, we’re keen to hear from staff about everything – no matter how small or huge their idea is!

HOW TO MAKE A SUGGESTION VIA BREATHE HR
- Click on your user icon in the top right hand corner to submit a suggestion
- You’ll then see the suggestion page
- Once you have submitted a suggestion, it will appear on the Community Dashboard under the recent suggestions.
