We’ve just wrapped up three days at the TUCO Summer Conference, and it was a brilliant one to be part of.
What is TUCO? TUCO (The University Caterers Organisation) is the professional body for catering teams across universities, colleges and the wider public sector. We’re proud to be one of their approved framework suppliers, which means we’re on the list universities and colleges turn to first when choosing a foodservice wholesaler, and it opens doors to customers we might not otherwise reach.
About the event… The conference ran Monday 27 to Wednesday 29 July at Edge Hill University, bringing together catering managers, procurement leads to meet with framework suppliers like us, discover new products and pick up ideas to take back to their own teams. Alongside the exhibition, there was a full speaker programme too, including MasterChef judge Monica Galetti and The Hotel Inspector’s Alex Polizzi.
Almost 300 key decision-makers came through the doors over the three days, and plenty of them stopped by the Dunsters Farm stand for a proper chat with our sales team. Events like this get us in front of decision-makers we’ve not worked with yet, a chance to show what we can offer as a foodservice partner and put our range in front of new eyes. It’s just as useful for customers we already supply, a good excuse to strengthen those relationships face to face. And with other suppliers, speakers and sessions all under one roof, it’s a genuinely good learning and networking opportunity for the team too. Big thanks to our sales team for manning the stand and getting stuck into conversations and to our transport team, for supporting some extra deliveries to the conference. Three days, hundreds of conversations and one busy stand, TUCO Conference is always a great reminder of what’s possible when university catering teams and their suppliers get in one room together.
