At Dunsters Farm, we’re committed to innovation and improvement – always striving to enhance the experience for our customers. As such, three years ago we embarked on a collaborative journey through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Manchester Metropolitan University.
Hear from our Commercial Director Tom Mathew, on what the project has brought to our business;
Why did we choose to work with KTP?
“Myself, and Hannah are passionate about continuous improvement, and having a growth mindset is reflected in our approach as a business. So, when I discovered Manchester Metropolitan’s KTP it really appealed to us, aligning well with our values whilst bringing a wealth of knowledge in the business transformation landscape.”
What were our hopes for the collaboration?
“The main aim of our collaboration was to bring ‘new thinking’ to our business and help make it more efficient, sustainable and resilient for the long-term. The KTP brought a fresh set of eyes and an abundance of academic knowledge and research – invaluable to an SME like ours.”
What developments have been the focus of KTP since the programme began?
“We’ve worked on a host of projects as part of our KTP, including Carbon Reduction and Net Zero planning, exploring solar & biofuel advancements, and looking at efficiencies in our warehouse. Our work on the KTP has enabled us to leverage cutting-edge research & expertise and implement transformative digital solutions – that we’re already seeing the benefits of.”
What would you say to other businesses considering the KTP?
“In a world that is always evolving, it is crucial for small businesses like ours to stay ahead of the curve. At Dunsters Farm, we recognise the importance of embracing technology to help create efficiencies, and better serve our customers.”
